Why does Hedda kill herself, well in thinking about this I don;t think (if I were to lay medical professional) it could be narrowed down to 1 or 2 reasons. I think that from the beginning she not only trapped herself, but didn't want to help herself in her problems. Her suicide wasn't really a great shock to me.

Suicide is a very common theme among these stories. IB has taken a very somber look on the human literature we read. think about it, someone dies horrifically in the end of every story. EVERY STORY!!!!
anyway, Hedda's suicide is nothing special, what was interestin though was Judge Brack's response that "people don't do such things" in direct context to his earlier situation with her where he says that "people say such things but rarely do them". Obviously he was surprised and is biting his tongue now.
